Q.1: When will admissions to the BBA programme open?
Ans. Admissions to the 1st semester BBA will be held in June - July 2010. Announcements will be made in the newspapers and on the website. Enquiries may be made from the Deputy Director at telephone no: 4615357-9, 021-6039706 or the email: bbaprogram@cet.edu.pk
Q.2: Is it possible for BBA students to save some time by taking advance courses?
Ans. BBA students can take some courses in advance during summer break in order to reduce their workload during normal semester, but they have to complete programme tenure before getting their degree. (See Summer Programme)
   
Q.3: If a student qualifies for admission to CIBES by clearing the entrance test, but faces constraint due to his/her ability to pay the fees in either full or part, does CIBES extend a helping hand?
Ans. There are merit scholarships and a fee endowment scheme for intermediate students through which needy students can be helped upon application. Merit scholarships are also available for BBA students. Loan facility is also available through PICIC Commercial Bank at a nominal rate of interest, creating ease of payment to the student.
   
Q.4: When does admission start in Intermediate?
Ans. Intermediate: Admission process begins in April. Classes starts from August.
   
Q.5: Is it possible to take admission in your college against the payment of some donation?
Ans. CIBES is not a commercial organization. COMMECS educational trust is fulfilling all the financial needs of CIBES, therefore we do not require any donations. As far as the admissions are concerned, they are strictly based on the merit. (See Admission Criteria), and therefore, no admissions are possible on the basis of donations.
   
Q.6: Does COMMECS have some link with COMSATS or COMMIT?
Ans. COMMECS Institute of Business and Emerging Sciences (CIBES) is the project of COMMECS educational trust, founded by the old students association of Govt. College of Commerce and Economics. It has no link or relationship with either COMSATS or COMMIT.
   
Q.7: Is their any quota fixed for the disabled in CIBES?
Ans. Admissions in the CIBES are strictly based on merit. There is no quota fixed for faculty, the principal or managing committee. Similarly there is no quota for disabled persons or persons from underdeveloped areas. However, disabled persons are equally welcome to sit for the admission test in open competition.
   
Q.8: I cleared my intermediate examination from CIBES. Can I still use your library and Internet facility?
Ans. So far we have not extended such a facility to our old students. When we do, we will inform.
   
Q.9: Is it possible to pay admission fee in cash, instead of payorder?
Ans. Payment is always through payorders.
   
Q.10: Is it possible for students to use the Internet? If so, what are the charges of usage?
Ans. Internet facility is available for students without any charges. Students can utilize this facility during their free periods.
   
Q.11: If the students wish to do their assignments on the computer at CIBES, are they allowed to do so?
Ans. If there is no scheduled practical session, the computer lab is available to all the students. Besides terminals are available for open use in the CIBES Library.
   
Q.12: What are the sports facilities available at CIBES?
Ans. We have in campus facilities for table tennis, volley ball and throw ball. We participate in cricket, squash, basketball, badminton, volley ball, throw ball, tennis and swimming tournaments. We arrange various courts, grounds and swimming pools for practice.
   
Q.13: Are there any opportunities for academic creativity (written and spoken) at the COMMECS Institute ?
Ans. CIBES publications include Payam-e-CIBE, Commecs Perspective and Commecs Post and students are always encouraged to participate. There are in-house competitions like English and Urdu debates and "Bait Bazi". Our students also participate in inter-college competitions. We also dramatize literary plays.
   
Q.14: What are the opportunities for CIBES students for exposure to industry and management processes in the business field?
Ans. Our regular features, in this regard, include:

  2 Assignments by Teachers to visit corporate sector for interviewing different executives.

  4 Guest speaker sessions
   
Q.15: What are the library timings at CIBES? Are latest relevant books available for students or are they referred to public libraries?
Ans. Timings are 8:00 AM to 2:45 PM. All latest and relevant books are available in sufficient number for both students and faculty.
