COMMECS Educational Trust (CET) is a not-for-profit organization, formed by "COMMECS" (the alumni association of Government College of Commerce & Economics) in 1989, who were concerned at the dearth of good educational institutions in the business, technology, education and management sciences. The main objective of CET is to find ways and means to bring a quantum change in the quality of education in the country and develop human resources and skills by establishing centres of learning for seekers of quality education and practical expertise.

As its first step, CET set-up the Commecs Institute of Business and Emerging Sciences (CIBES) in 1993. The standards were set to conform to the vision of the founders. Heartened by the success, CET is embarking on its 'flight towards new horizons', by establishing institutes / programmes thereby covering such areas as technology, engineering, education and professional development.

It is an established fact that no system of education is better than its teachers. In addition to other causes, the major cause for falling standard of education is the poor quality of teacher education in the country; and the situation demands that immediate remedial measures be taken to check further deterioration.

Considering the demanding nature of the situation, the Commecs Educational Trust (a not-for-profit organization), established by people who are aware of their social responsibility and are working with missionary zeal to upgrade the standard of education in Pakistan, after the establishment of the Commecs Institute of Business and Emerging Sciences, CET established Commecs Institute of Faculty Training (CIFT).

Establishment of CIFT is in consonance with CET’s mission to pay back the nation by sharing its human and material resources in the field of education. CIFT offers two types of services:

1. Academic Audit and Training
2. Teachers Training and Professional Development
