SCIENCE EXHIBITION 2009

Commecs Institute of Business and Emerging Sciences organized Science Exhibition on Tuesday 15, 2009. Renowned scholar Dr. Riaz Baquar Rizvi Baqai Medical University graced the occasion as the Chief Guest while Mr. Arif Suleman and Mr. Majid Bhatti, Senior Reporter Daily Jung, were also present as the Guests of Honour. The panel of judges included Professor Nasreen Hussain, Principal P.E.C.H.S College (Chemistry), Dr. Sajid Afzal, Principal Baqai Cadet College (Physics) and Mr. Salman Raza, Adamjee Govt. Science College, Karachi (Biology).

The participating students displayed a wide range of their projects based on the subjects of Physics, Biology and Chemistry. The respectable guests visited the stalls set up by the students and appreciated their arduous efforts. The guests also emphasized the need for such exhibitions and their role in meeting the future challenges in the field of Science. The Chief Guest distributed prizes among the winners in three disciplines. The first prizes were awarded to the students of Vohra Room for the Chemistry project ‘Hydrogen Fuel Cell’, Jamil Room for the Physics project ‘Pico turbine windmill’ and Gatron Room for the Biology project ‘Microalgae Spirulina – Eliciting a revolution’. The students of Crescent II clinched the grand prize for their project ‘Nature at its best - Discovery of Mangosteen’.

In the end of the programme the Executive Director, Mr. Muhammad Arif Dossal and the Principal Cdr (Retd) Abdul Razaq PN presented the college shields to the Chief Guests, Guests of Honour and the Judges of the programmes.
