CIBES wins the Best Category Award

in National Science Fair, 2010

 

Commecs Institute of Business and Emerging Sciences, Karachi won the best category award in the discipline of Biology all over Pakistan in National Science Fair, 2010 organized by Intel in collaboration with Federal Govt. of Pakistan at National Library, Islamabad from February 01 to 04, 2010. Every year Intel organizes Science Exhibition globally. In Pakistan this exhibition is held since 2004.

 

Commecs participated for the very first time in this event. Six students of Commecs first qualified on district level, then on provincial level and finally their project was approved and they were invited along with their teacher, Ms. Syeda Noorul-Ain Zaman to Islamabad to compete in the National Science Fair, 2010. Three Abstracts were sent to Intel on Biological research under the supervision of HEJ Chemistry Department (KU), PCSIR and Laboratory of Jinnah Hospital, Karachi. The Biology project that won the best category award was ‘Effect of Fenugreek Plant on Diabetic patient’, prepared by Saba Nazir and Namra Asif of Second Year, Pre-Medical group. The other participants were: Sidra Azmat, Basri Abdullah, M Ali Khan and Ahmed Ibrahim Warsi.
