COMMECS Institute of Business and Emerging Sciences organized English and Urdu plays as second day of its Student’s Week 2009 on December 14, 2009. Two plays were performed. The English play ‘Nobody Famous’ by D.M Bocaz Larson and the Urdu play ‘Funooni Latifay’ by Anwar Maqsood. For English play the Chief Guest was Ms. Tazeen Hussain, renowned TV actress, producer and lecturer at Indus Valley. While Mr. Imtiaz Faran, President Karachi Press Club, was the Guest of Honour on the occasion. For Urdu play Ms. Zeba Shehnaz, a very renowned and senior TV actress, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Among Guests of Honour were Mr. Zafar-ul-Islam, Member Commecs Association and Mr. Shehzad Raza, well-known TV and stage actor.
All the students gave a remarkable performance and won a huge applause from the guests and the audience. The Guests highly admired the performance of students and acknowledged the talent of young actors. However, the best performer trophy for English play went to Usama Nasir of Brooke Bond Room and the runner-up trophy was given to Asfia Khan of Crescent I Room. For Urdu play the best performer award was given to Hussain of Altaf Agha Room and the Runner-up trophy was awarded to Zehra Hussain Zaidi of Aziz Tabba Room.
In the end of the programme, college shields were presented to the Chief Guest and Guests of Honour by Executive Director, Mr. Arif Dossal and the Principal CIBES, Commander (Retd.) Abdul Razaq PN.
